On Friday 24th January, a mixed team of 10 children from Year 5 attended a football tournament at Sherburn High School. Prior to the event, the children were busy discussing tactics and positions and were very excited to compete against other local primary schools.
At the tournament, the children completed a thorough warm-up led by Mr Jackson and then were split into a Hensall team and a mixed team with Barlow Primary. It was brilliant to see children working collaboratively with children from Barlow, forming a new team and rotating in and out of the two teams.
In total, Hensall won all of their 6 games, scoring 28 goals and conceding only 1 goal - an amazing achievement! After all of the games, Mr Jackson announced Hensall as the winners of the tournament.
Well done to all 10 children, you were a credit to our school and showed amazing sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. Another huge well done from Mr Spetch!
