Do I need to book a place for Breakfast Club?
There is no need to book a place for Breakfast Club. The doors open from 7:45 am and parents can drop off their children without the need to make a pre-booking. There is one single charge for the session, £4.00, and this is added to ParentPay afterwards.
How do I book a place in After-School Club?
There are several ways in which you can book a place. All of these are encouraging our parents to book in advance to eliminate daily phone calls to the office.
- All parents MUST let the school know if they are expecting their child to go into the After-School Club. It causes unnecessary upset for the child if they are left at the end of the day not knowing who is collecting them. Staff then have to make contact with the family to check what is happening and this can impact staff training or meetings after school.
- If you know in advance for the half-term which sessions you will need, for example, every Wednesday and Friday, please complete the paper booking form and return it to the office or after-school club staff. You can even take a photo of this on your phone if easier and email it in. Paper booking forms will be handed out by the staff at the club in the final week of each half-term.
- If you prefer, you can email the office ([email protected]) each week with your bookings for the week.
- If you are making ad hoc bookings, the best way to do this is to email the office overnight.
- Whilst we will accept phone calls for last minute club bookings, we are trying to reduce these as much as possible. Each time a phone booking comes in, staff need to communicate with the staff teacher and the child so there is no confusion at the end of the day. This can disrupt the admin workload and the teaching in class.
How do I pay for my bookings for Breakfast Club and After-School Club?
Once a week, on a Monday, Miss Mills will add the attendance from the previous week to ParentPay for both Breakfast Club and After-School Club. This then adds a charge to your ParentPay account for each dayattended. Parents are expected to pay for the week's booking on a weekly basis so a debt is not accrued. The maximum debt limit per child across all payment items (wraparound care and school lunches) is £30 and your child's place at the club is at risk should a significant debt be accrued without regular payments to
clear the balance. If you pay using Government Childcare Vouchers, your payment terms are extended to account for the voucher payment being received by school. Parents can 'pre-load' an amount onto the payment items on ParentPay and this is by far the best method for us. This works by the family adding for example £30 to their ParentPay account on the payment item 'After-School Club'. This sits within your ParentPay account and the amount is reduced each week as we add the attendance from the club. Parents top this up every couple of weeks to ensure they stay in credit.
What is the Parent Contract?
We have introduced a Parent Contract for all families who use our before or after-school club. This outlines the key procedures we follow to keep your child safe and parents are expected to sign this and return it to the office or club before the end of March.
And finally, there is a dedicated mobile phone for after-school club contact and the number is 07767 098214. Please add this to your ‘Contacts’ so you can text or phone and let the Club Leader know if you are going to be late or someone different is collecting your child.
Should you have any questions about the new booking system, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
